Football Holy Family Catholic 41, Litchfield 20

The Dragons hung with the powerhouse Fire in the first half but Holy Family’s Eric Requet’s 64-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the third quarter put the Wright County Conferene game out of reach on Thursday.

Litchfield’s Cody Rau ran for a TD and caught an 18-yard pass from Eddie Estrada for another score.

Paynesville played four close games with Eden Valley-Watkins, coming away with the 3-1 victory in its first match of the season.

Lexie Skoglund added seven kills and was 16-for-17 on serves, to go with 20 digs, and Brooke Kreamer collected 30 digs and ace serve.

Girls Tennis LHS Invitational

Willmar won a pair of 4-3 duals over Litchfield and Rocori, but fell 5-2 to Pine City Monday at the Litchfield Quadrangular.

Cayle Hovland won all of three of her matches at 1-singles for Willmar and Laney Huhner also went 3-0 for the Dragons at 4-singles and 2-doubles.
