Police release sketch of suspect in sex assault near St. Kate’s

Minneapolis police are looking for the public’s help it tracking down a suspect that’s responsible for a the brutal assault of a St. Catherine’s Univesrsity student last week, WCCO says.
The student was allegedly assaulted while walking along a path in Riverside Park around 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19. The victim claims the suspect used a weapon to force her into a wooded area and then sexually assaulted her.
The woman was able to get away and was treated at nearby hospital.
KARE 11 describes the suspect as an African American man between 35 and 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium to heavy build. It was reported he was wearing a navy blue jacket with a zipper.
WCCO reports another assault was also reported in the 1800 block of Stevens Avenue South earlier that morning.
Students and staff at St. Kate’s, just two blocks away from Riverside Park, and other nearby schools have been advised to take safety precautions, FOX9 reports.
