A Woodbury guardian faces charges after a disabled teenager in her care was repeatedly forced into sex.
The Star Tribune reports 50-year-old Cheryl Ann Tchida of Woodbury was the sole guardian and caretaker of the 19-year-old woman that has an IQ of a 5 or 6 year old and isn’t able to perform most daily activities on her own.
According to court documents, Tchida dropped the victim off at a Roseville motel on July 3 to “hang out” with a 17-year-old boy she’d met three days earlier.
Five older men were also in the motel room and the victim says she was coerced into having sex with four of the men. She was later forced into having sex with five “customers” who visited the room after being threatened.
The teen called Tchida to pick her up. A man answered the phone and said she wasn’t coming home, the Pioneer Press reports. Tchida never returned to the motel.
The man was 32-year-old Hassan Bahka Muhammad, a felon, who set up an ad selling $200 sex acts later brought the victim to his St. Paul apartment where he had sex with the victim. The teen was later reunited with Tchida.
Court documents say Tchida continued to drop the victim off at that apartment for several weeks.
Tchida has been charged with neglecting a vulnerable adult, a gross misdemeanor.
