Litchfield Lite Challenge Begins
Local News | January 17, 2013
The Litchfield Lite 13-week wellness challenge began last weekend. Participants are getting ready for the first big program related to the challenge – a motivational speaker on Saturday.
Bob Lawrence says Josh Cox will travel to Litchfield from California to speak in the Bernie Aaker Auditorium at 10 a.m. Saturday. He says Josh had the Anytime Fitness inspirational story of 2012.
Lawrence says there will also be a vendor fair after Josh speaks – until noon at the Bernie Aaker Auditorium, and people will have one last chance to weigh-in and join Litchfield Lite if they missed the opportunity last week. He says there will be other special programs and seminars throughout the 13-week wellness challenge.
Kateri Korman will be providing a free yoga sampler on Tuesday, January 22nd in Suite 200 of the Meeker County Family Services Center. She says the free class is open to anyone.
Korman says there will be two half-hour sessions to choose from – either 6-to-6:30 p.m. or 6:45-to-7:15 p.m. She says interested persons may pre-register at Litchfield Community Education.
Registered Dietician Joanne Searl will be conducting a weight loss seminar on Thursday, January 24th in the Meeker Memorial Hospital Conference Center as part of the Litchfield Lite program. She says there will be information on budgeting and meal planning.
Searl says people should register at Litchfield Community Education so that she knows how many materials to have prepared. She says she’s taught classes for Litchfield Lite in past years, but this will be the first one on weight loss.
