The Minnesota Trapping Convention will be held at the Meeker County Fairgrounds August 10th through the 12th – with gates opening at noon on Thursday, August 10th. There will be vendors, demonstrations, kid’s games, food, camping, music and more.
Artie Barnes says admission is just $10 for members, $15 for non-members and free for children under 15 for the weekend. He says the convention was held in Litchfield in 2013 and in 2017, and there are some meetings, but also lots of fun activities such as a skillet toss which will be held at 2 p.m. on August 12th.
Barnes says there will be a trap-setting contest on the 12th at noon, a VFW breakfast Friday and Saturday, a pulled pork dinner Friday night and live music August 11th with the band Hoof-Hearted. He says tailgaters will be there with a swap meet/garage sale-type of activity. For more details, go to MNtrappers.org.
